Labour Hire Licensing Laws

Consumer and Business Services has released an announcement, advising that licensing requirements will NOT be enforced before 1 February 2019. This is stated to be as a result of various stakeholders raising submissions in response to the legislation and its scope.
This position is a change from previous advice from the agency who flagged enforcement of provisions on and from 1 September 2018.
Having regard to various issues and problems with the drafting in the legislation this is a good decision for businesses that may wish to delay seeking a license until further information is released by the Government and the agency. Please seek specific advice as is appropriate to your businesses.
